About
BFA Kansas City Art Institute
MFA Massachusetts College of Art
Christy Georg is an Artist / Adventurer. She has worked as a deckhand aboard sailing schooners, thru-hiked the 2,650 mile Pacific Crest Trail and 500 mile Colorado trail, and cruised the Arctic. Her practice is characterized by utilization of craftsmanship resulting in believable objects that function actually or metaphorically, but with an underlying conceptual absurdity. Endurance and fortitude are consistent themes.
She has been called “...a sculptor of wit and ingenuity, clearly in the tradition of Jean Tinguely and Bruce Nauman, but brilliantly original in her use of existential humor to invigorate the works” by Rob Fisher.
Christy is based in Santa Fe & Boston, tends her knit-and-knot nautical Etsy shop AhoyVoyager, hikes and adventures with her dog Killick, and is Operations Manager at MAKE Santa Fe.
